A Class of Poisson Mixtured Distributions
A new parametric family of densities has been generated from existing families by the technique of mixing of the existing densities. In this article, a class of mixtured distributions is defined, which we call ``Poisson mixture of distributions. A number of mixtured distributions which belong to this class is provided. Then some characteristics of these distributions are given and compared with the related central distributions. The non-central distributions such as the non-central \(\chi^ 2\), \(F\), \(t\), and the beta distributions belong to this class. We shall not discuss these non-central distributions here since they were extensively studied by many authors.
