A Deligne conjecture for prestacks

From MaRDI portal

The Gerstenhaber-Schack complex \(C_{GS}(\mathbb{A})\) of a prestack \(\mathbb{A}\) controls the deformation theory of \(\mathbb{A}\) and its cohomology is endowed with a Gerstenhaber algebra structure. The authors establish an analog of the Deligne conjecture for prestacks, providing an explicit construction that lifts the Gerstenhaber algebra structure on \(H_{GC}(\mathbb{A})\) to an \(E_2\)-structure on the complex itself.\N\NThe work involves the dg operad \(\mathsf{Quilt}\), introduced by \textit{E. Hawkins} [Adv. Math. 428, Article ID 109156, 80 p. (2023; Zbl 1527.16012)]. The authors prove a conjecture by Hawkins, establishing that the projection map from \(\mathsf{Quilt}\) to the \(\mathsf{Brace}\) operad is a quasi-isomorphism. Furthermore, the authors prove that the \(L_{\infty}\)-structure previously identified on the GS complex originates from a \(\mathsf{PreLie}_\infty\)-structure that lifts the \(\mathsf{PreLie}\)-structure on \(\mathsf{Brace}\) in homology.\N\NBy applying the machinery of operadic twisting, the authors construct a new dg operad, \(\mathsf{TwQuilt}\). They prove that \(\mathsf{TwQuilt}\) is an \(E_2\)-operad. The main result is the construction of an explicit action of \(\mathsf{TwQuilt}\) on the Gerstenhaber-Schack complex \(C_{GS}(\mathbb{A})\) obtained by combining the action of \(\mathsf{Quilt}\) (from [\textit{H. D. Van} et al., Sel. Math., New Ser. 28, No. 3, Paper No. 47, 63 p. (2022; Zbl 1484.18010)]) and the prestack's ``twists (a natural isomorphism \(c\) that relaxes the prestack's functoriality). This confirms that \(C_{GS}(\mathbb{A})\) is naturally an \(E_2\)-algebra, generalizing both the \(L_{\infty}\)-algebra structure on the complex and the Gerstenhaber algebra structure on its cohomology \(H_{GS}(\mathbb{A})\).\N\NFinally, in the restricted case of presheaves, the authors deduce a second, ``orthogonal \(\mathsf{TwQuilt}\)-action, subsuming the action of Hawkins' operad \(\mathsf{mQuilt}\).
