Es sei \(f\in S_{p\times q}(\mathbb{D})\) eine Schur-Funktion auf der Einheitskreisscheibe \(\mathbb{D}\) mit \(p\times q\)-Matrizen als Werten. Verff. beschreiben die Menge aller inneren Funktionen \(U\in S_{(p+q)\times (p+q)}(\mathbb{D})\) mit \((p+q)\times (p+q)\)-Block-Matrizen \((U_{i,j})_{i,j=1,2}\) als Werten, für die \(U_{1,2}=f\) gilt. Ein entsprechendes Ergebnis wird für \(g\in S_{q\times p}(\mathbb{D})\) und \(U_{2,1}=g\) gewonnen. Analoge Untersuchungen beziehen sich anschließend auf spezielle Teilklassen derartiger Funktionen \(U\).
