A diameter bound for finite simple groups of large rank
From MaRDI portal
Abstract: Given a non-abelian finite simple group of Lie type, and an arbitrary generating set , it is conjectured by Laszlo Babai that its Cayley graph will have a diameter of . However, little progress has been made when the rank of is large. In this article, we shall show that if has rank , and its base field has order , then the diameter of would be .
