A new characterization of FD implication with an application to update anomalies
From MaRDI portal
A new characterization of the notion of implication for functional dependencies in relational databases is presented, which reflects the meaning of this static type of constraint with respect to dynamic updates. Consequences of this characterization towards a formal description of update anomalies occurring in a relation are explored.
