A pointwise ergodic theorem for Fuchsian groups

Abstract: We use Series' Markovian coding for words in Fuchsian groups and the Bowen-Series coding of limit sets to prove an ergodic theorem for Cesaro averages of spherical averages in a Fuchsian group.
