A postulational basis for probability.

From MaRDI portal

Es handelt sich um folgendes Axiomensystem: 1) Jedem \(A\) ist eine nicht-negative reelle Zahl \(P(A)\) zugeordnet. Ist \(A\equiv B\), so \(P(A)=P(B)\). 2) \(P (A \cdot B) + P (A \cdot\overline B) = P (A)\). Dabei bedeutet \(\overline B =\text{``nicht}\;B\); \(A \cdot B = \text{``}A\;\text{und}\;B\); \(A \vee B = \text{``}A\;\text{oder}\;B\). 3) \(P(A\vee\overline A) = 1\). 4) Zu \(A\) und \(B\) (mit \(P(B)\neq0\)) gibt es eine reelle Zahl \(P_B(A)\), derart daß \(P(A\cdot B) = P (B) P_B (A)\). 5) Für \(A_1,\, A_2,\,\ldots\) gelte \(A_\mu\cdot A_\nu\equiv A_\mu \cdot\overline A_\mu\) für alle \(\nu\neq\mu\); ferner sei \(A \equiv A_1 \vee A_2\vee\cdots \); dann ist \(P (A) = P(A_1) + P(A_2) + \cdots\). (Hiermit wird Axiom 2) überflüssig.) 6) Dieses Axiom besagt im wesentlichen die Gültigkeit des Bernoullischen Theorems.
