A specific intersection graph of a module applying semisimple property

From MaRDI portal

This paper is a contribution to the theory of graphs associated with algebraic structures, using graph theory to reveal algebraic properties. The authors introduce and analyse the semisimple intersection graph \(GSS_R(M)\) of a right module \(M\) over a unital ring \(R\). The vertices of \(GSS_R(M)\) are the nonzero submodules of \(M\); distinct vertices \(N\) and \(K\) are connected by an edge if their intersection forms a nonzero semisimple module. \par The authors relate fundamental properties of \(GSS_R(M)\) such as its connectivity, diameter, and domination number to module-theoretic properties of \(M\). A typical result is that the girth of \(GSS_R(M)\) is either 3 or \(\infty\).
