Adaptive weighted minimum prediction uncertainty control
This paper describes an adaptive control design problem for a discrete time system with structured parametric uncertainty with the goal of minimizing the weighted predicted output uncertainty. The system uncertainty is quantified using a set membership (SM) identification scheme. An SM-estimator identifies a parallelopiped where the system parameter vector is located. For any given input sequence, parameter uncertainty leads to uncertainty in the predicted system output. The authors' control objective is to derive the input sequence that minimizes the predicted output uncertainty while tracking a reference input signal. The control design problem is solved by constrained minimization of a quadratic cost function. Simulation studies are presented for the proposed control scheme.
