An overview of several aspects of applied thermodynamics is provided in the 13 chapters of this book, written in such a way that in particular mechanical engineers will find it extremely useful, as well as -- to a lesser degree -- engineers of other disciplines. The layout is successful and the beautiful illustrations as well as the many written problems will make it useful as a textbook for undergraduate and graduate courses. NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEThe sections on intermolecular forces are quite interesting and could be used as material in advanced courses. The ``chemical engineering related part of the book such as those sections on equations of state, etc. in chapters 8 and 9, gives a global consideration of the subject of Thermodynamics Engineering.
