Algebraic coding theory and compact discs
From MaRDI portal
In this exposition the author surveys the mathematical and technical background of current compact disc technology (with emphasis on mathematics). Topics mentioned include pulse code modulation, source coding, eight to fourteen modulation, redundant coding, linear codes, cyclic codes, Reed-Solomon-Codes, interleaving, and optical encoding.
