Almost weakly Picard operators
The authors of this interesting and well-written paper first introduce and then study a new class of self-mappings of metric spaces, which they call \textit{almost weakly Picard operators} (AWPO for short). This class of operators properly contains the previously investigated classes of Picard operators (PO), weakly Picard operators (WPO), and almost Picard operators (APO). In particular, the authors relate AWPO to the perimeter contracting mappings which have recently been defined and examined by \textit{E. Petrov} [J. Fixed Point Theory Appl. 25, No. 3, Paper No. 74, 11 p. (2023; Zbl 1537.54044)]. Several pertinent and illuminating examples are also included.
