An example concerning factorization of rational functions
From MaRDI portal
The author resolves a question posed by the reviewer regarding a statement of Ritt on factorization of rational function. The author proves Ritt's original assertion. Theorem. There exists a rational function which has two factorizations into prime functions each having a different number of factors.
