An extremal problem for generalized Jacobi polynomials
From MaRDI portal
In this paper it is shown that the zeros of polynomials orthogonal with respect to generalized Jacobi weights determine the equilibrium position of movable \(n\) units charges in an external field determined by their weight function. The total energy of the system at equilibrium in terms of the recursion coefficients has also been computed.NEWLINENEWLINEFor the entire collection see [Zbl 0940.00021].
