The authors analyze an iterative nonoverlapping domain decomposition method for simple elliptic problems on a rectangular domain. They show the fast convergence rate in case of constant coefficients and two rectangular subdomains. The result indicates that preconditioning is not necessary. Computational results confirm the theory given in the paper.
