Approximation in area of graphs with isolated singularities
From MaRDI portal
The author deals with the relaxed nonparametric area functional for vector-valued functions. It is shown that any graph with finite mass, which is continuous everywhere and smooth except for isolated points, may be approximated in area by graphs of smooth maps. In some cases the continuity assumption is relaxed.
