Approximation of fixed points of nonexpansive semigroups based on a general iterative process
In the first section of the paper, the authors include some basic notions and notations, and motivate their approach by briefly presenting the results in [\textit{G. Marino} and \textit{H. K. Xu}, ``A general iterative method for nonexpansive mappings in Hilbert spaces, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 318, No. 1, 43--52 (2006; Zbl 1095.47038)], [\textit{Y. Yao, Y.-C. Liou} and \textit{R. Chen}, ``A general iterative method for a finite family of nonexpansive mappings, Nonlinear Anal., Theory Methods Appl., Ser. A, Theory Methods 69, No. 5-6, A, 1644--1654 (2008; Zbl 1223.47105)] and [\textit{S. Plubtieng} and \textit{R. Punpaeng}, ``Fixed point solutions of variational inequalities for nonexpansive semigroups in Hilbert spaces, Math. Comput. Modelling 48, No. 1-2, 279--286 (2008; Zbl 1145.47308)], referring to the convergence of some iterative processes related to families of nonexpansive mappings in Hilbert spaces.NEWLINENEWLINEInspired by these approaches, the authors consider the general iteration process NEWLINE\[NEWLINEx_{n+1}=P_C\left(\alpha_n\gamma f(x_n)+\beta_nx_n+((1-\beta_n)I-\alpha_nA)\dfrac{1}{s_n}\int^{s_n}_{0}T(s)x_n\, ds\right),\quad x_0\in C, NEWLINE\]NEWLINE and establish in the main result, Theorem 2.1, its convergence to a common fixed point of the considered nonexpansive semigroup, under precise conditions. This common fixed point solves the variational inequality NEWLINE\[NEWLINE \left\langle (\gamma f-A)x^\ast,x-x^\ast\right\rangle\leq0,\text{ for all }x\in F(S). NEWLINE\]NEWLINE Some of the results which have inspired this approach are to be found among the three corollaries of the main theorem, thus proving its generality.
