Best approximation of bounded functions by continuous functions
From MaRDI portal
In this paper we study the question of existence of best approximants, and more generally, existence of Chebyshev centers in spaces of vector- valued bounded functions on a topological space X by means of subspaces of continuous functions. As an application, the approximation of linear operators by compact ones is studied.
