Boundedness of complements for generalized pairs
The theory of complements was introduced by Shokurov and it becomes a key tool in the recent progress on the boundedness of Fano varieties and othe related topics, see [\textit{C. Birkar}, Ann. Math. (2) 190, No. 2, 345--463 (2019; Zbl 1470.14078); \textit{G. Chen} et al., Int. Math. Res. Not. 2024, No. 10, 8329--8349 (2024; Zbl 1557.14008)] and the references therein. Much of the previous works forcus on the cases where the boundary divisors have coefficients in a fixed DCC set, recently \textit{V. V. Shokurov} developed new ideas and approaches to extend these results to real coefficients lying in \([0,1]\), [``Existence and boundedness of \(n\)-complements, Preprint, \url{arXiv:2012.06495}].\N\NIn the paper under review, following the ideas of Shokurov, the authors genrealized Shokurov's results to generalized pairs and also provided a short and self-contained proof of Shokurov's results. More precisely, the authors proved the following boundedness result for complements. For other related results and the main idea of the proof, we refer the reader to the well-written introduction of the paper under review.\N\N{Theorem.} Let \(d\) and \(p\) be two positive integers. Then there exists a finite set \(N\) of positive integers depending only on \(d\) and \(p\) satisfying the following: Assume that \(X/Z\ni z, B+\mathbf{M}\) is a generalized pair of dimension \(d\) such that\N\begin{itemize}\N\item \(p\mathbf{M}\) is b-Cartier;\N\item \(X\) is of Fano type over \(Z\);\N\item \((X/Z\ni z,B+\mathbf{M})\) has an \(\mathbb{R}\)-complement, which is klt over a neighbourhood of \(z\).\N\end{itemize}\NThen \((X/Z\ni z,B+\mathbf{M})\) has an \(n\)-complement for some \(n\in N\).
