Characterizations of weighted generalized inverses

From MaRDI portal

This paper introduces novel representations and characterizations for weighted core inverses of matrices, investigating their properties and relationships with other generalized inverses. The authors propose representations that facilitate discussion of results associated with the reverse order law for these inverses. The work extends concepts of generalized bilateral inverses and \(\{1,2,3,1^k\}\)-inverses to complex rectangular matrices, along with their dual forms, see [\textit{O. M. Baksalary} and \textit{G. Trenkler}, Linear Multilinear Algebra 58, No. 5--6, 681--697 (2010; Zbl 1202.15009); Appl. Math. Comput. 236, 450--457 (2014; Zbl 1334.15009)].\N\NThe key contributions of this paper include: \N\N(1) Introduction of unique representations for the weighted core inverse of matrices;\N\N(2) Characterization of EP-ness conditions and coincidence of \(W\)-weighted \(\{1,2,3\}\) and \(\{1,2,3,1^k\}\) inverses;\N\N(3) Definition of new matrix classes: W-weighted index-MP, \(W\)-weighted MP-index, and W-weighted MP-index-MP matrices;\N\N(4) Examination of self-duality characteristics in weighted bilateral inverses;\N\N(5) Extension of generalized bilateral inverse concepts to rectangular complex matrices.\N\NThe study employs matrix decomposition techniques, weighted generalized inverse theory, analysis of reverse order laws, and duality principles for matrix inverses.
