Let \(A_ p\) denote the class of functions \(f(z)=z\) \(p+\sum^{\infty}_{n=p+1}a_ nz\) n which are analytic in the unit disc U. The author introduces the class \(F_{\lambda}(\alpha,\beta,p)\), \(0<\lambda \leq 1\), \(| \alpha | <\frac{\pi}{2}\), \(0\leq \beta <p\), p a positive integer, of functions \(f\in A_ p\) which satisfy the condition \[ (*)\quad | (H(f(z))-1)/(H(f(z))+1)| <\lambda,\quad for\quad z\in U \] where \(H(f(z))=(\exp [i\alpha zf'(z)/f(z)]-\beta \cos \alpha -ip \sin \alpha)(p-\beta)^{-1}(\cos \alpha)^{-1}\) and the class \(C_{\lambda}(b,p)\), p a positive integer, \(0<\lambda <1\), \(b\neq 0\), \(b\in {\mathbb{C}}\), of functions \(f\in A_ p\) which satisfy (*) with \[ H(f(z))=1+(pb)^{-1}(1+zg(z)/g'(z)-p). \] These classes generalize many well known subclasses of univalent and p-valent functions. Representation formulas and coefficient estimates are given.
