Common Jordan chains of matrices
From MaRDI portal
The paper gives a necessary and sufficient condition for any set of matrices to have an eigenvector in common and studies common Jordan chains of matrices. The main result is a characterization of common right divisors of matrix polynomials by common Jordan chains of their first companion matrices.
