Compact imbedding theorems in Musielak spaces
The authors extend classical results from Orlicz and variable exponent spaces to the more general framework of Musielak spaces, providing valuable insights and applications to nonlinear elliptic problems. The paper is well-written, clearly structured, and makes a significant contribution to the fields of functional analysis and partial differential equations. They effectively motivate their study by linking the theoretical framework to practical applications, such as modeling non-Newtonian fluids and electrorheological fluids. This connection between theory and application enhances the paper's impact. Theorem~3.1 extends the classical Rellich-Kondrachov compactness theorem to Musielak-Sobolev spaces under minimal regularity assumptions (only \((\mathcal{M}2)\) and \((\mathcal{H}_{nf})\)). The avoidance of \(\Delta_2\)-conditions is particularly noteworthy, as it broadens applicability to non-reflexive settings.
