Coupling surface and subsurface flows with curved interfaces
This paper analyses the coupled Stokes and Darcy flows with Beavers-Joseph-Saffman slip condition at the interface and the boundary. A numerical scheme is developed to deal with curved interfaces and non-matching grids. Multipoint flux mixed finite element is developed for the Darcy region, whereas the multiscale mortar discretization is used for the Darcy and Stokes interfaces. Matching conditions on the curved interfaces are imposed by mapping the physical grids onto reference grids with flat interfaces. Numerical results include a test of the convergence of the proposed method. The authors apply the method to the simulation of a coupled surface water and ground water flow.NEWLINENEWLINEFor the entire collection see [Zbl 1264.65002].
