Crowned Lie groups and nets of real subspaces

From MaRDI portal

Let \(G\) be a connected Lie group. The article introduces the notion of crowned Lie group, consisting of a triple \((G,h,\Xi)\), where \(h\) is a Lie algebra element such that \(\mathrm{ad}(h)\) is diagonalizable with eigenvalues in \(\{1,0,-1\}\) and \(\Xi\) is a complex manifold containing \(G\) as a totally real submanifold with extra properties. In this case \(\Xi\) is called a crown domain. A net of real subspaces of a complex Hilbert space is a family of closed real subspaces indexed by open subsets of a \(G\)-space. The article uses analytic extensions of orbit maps of antiunitary representations to the crown domains to construct nets of real subspaces of \(G\) that satisfy important conditions in algebraic quantum field theory. It discusses the representation theoretic properties of various crowns where \(G\) is the \(2\)-dimensional non-abelian Lie group. It also characterizes the existence of nets with the above properties by a regularity condition in terms of \(h\).
