Differential evolution. In search of solutions.

From MaRDI portal

In the field of optimizations methods, differential optimization represents a recent approach, the algorithm behind it becoming a powerful tool for global optimization. Derived from the population-based techniques, the differential evolution is mostly characterised by the differential mutation. Many of the classical population-based metaheuristics properties, such as: global methods of nonlinear continuous optimization, approximate methods of combinatorial optimization, stochastic optimization etc. are common to the differential evolution. The book deals with the neoteric differential evolution, strategies of search, transversal differential evolution, energetic selection principle, hybridization of differential evolution and applications. The writing style is very dynamic and nice, inviting the interested reader (students, teachers, engineers etc.) to learn more about this exciting subject.
