[For the entire collection see Zbl 0746.00070.] The author describes a refined discrete model for photon diffusion in the plane. The forward diffusion problem is solved, i.e. given the diffusion coefficients, the diffusion of photons through the medium is determined. The purpose of it all is to solve the inverse diffusion problem of determining the diffusion coefficients from the diffusion data, but this is not discussed in detail.
