Directionlets and some generalized nonlinear selfsimilarities

The author introduces the notion of multi-regularity or directional regularity and provides a characterization using directional wavelets. Furthermore, a class of nonlinear anisotropic self-similar functions is defined and it is proved that for the detection of singularities, elements of this class are comparable to directional wavelets.
