Divergence measure between fuzzy sets

The authors define, by means of a list of natural axioms, the concept of divergence as a measure of the difference between the membership functions of two fuzzy sets. A noteworthy class of these measures, precisely those ones having the ``local property (cfr. Definition 3.1), is characterized and investigated.
