Endomorphism ring of Artinian module
From MaRDI portal
Let M an artinian module of finite homogeneous length k. Schulz has shown: \(E=End(M)\) is semiprimary and \(J(E)^ k=0\), which is an improvement of a theorem of Smalø. [\textit{R. Schulz}, Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 86, 209-210 (1982; Zbl 0502.16025) and \textit{S. O. Smalø}, ibid. 81, 164-166 (1981; Zbl 0456.16030)]. The author shows that if N is a nil submonoid of End(M), then \(N^ k=0\). This gives a partial answer to a question of \textit{J. W. Fisher}, posed in [ibid. 34, 75-78 (1972; Zbl 0241.16006)].
