Endpoints of inverse limits with set-valued functions
From MaRDI portal
The structure of the endpoints of inverse limits built from set-valued functions is studied, and under some technical hypotheses on continuity properties of the set-valued functions involved, the endpoints are characterized. The main theorem is used to exhibit four explicit irreducible functions with topologically different inverse limit spaces via the invariant of the cardinality of the set of endpoints. Applications both to the topology of inverse limits and to dynamical systems are discussed.
