Existence and Nonexistence of Solutions of Nonlinear Neumann Problems

From MaRDI portal

The authors study nonnegative solutions to the problem \[ -\Delta_pu=(\nabla\psi (x),\nabla u)|\nabla u|^{p-2} + a(x)u^{q-1} + b(x)u^{s-1}\quad\text{in } \Omega, \] \[ |\nabla u|^{p-2}\frac{\partial u}{\partial\nu}=0 \quad \text{on }\partial\Omega. \] Here, \(\Omega\subset\mathbb R^n\) is a connected bounded domain with \(C^{1,\alpha}\) boundary, \(\nu\) is the outer normal; \(a\) and \(b\) are continuous in \(\overline\Omega\), \(a\) changes sign, \(b\) is nonpositive, \(\psi\in C^1\); \(q\) and \(s\) are subcritical. Under the various assumptions some existence (nonexistence) theorems for nontrivial nonnegative solutions are proved.
