Exponential shrinking problem in multiplicative Diophantine approximation
The present research deals with liminf sets and multiplicative Diophantine approximations. It is noted that liminf sets are useful for investigations in the following topics: conditions when a point can be well approximated compared with limsup set; evaluations for the dimension of limsup set from below.\N\NA brief survey is devoted to the base of Diophantine approximation, as well as to limsup and limsup sets.\N\NThe main results aim to calculate the Hausdorff dimension of the set \N\[\N\mathcal{K}_d(\tau) = \left\{ \boldsymbol{x} \in [ 0, 1 ]^d : \prod_{i = 1}^d \| q_n x_i \| \leq q_n^{- \tau} \text{ for all } n \text{ ultimately} \right\},\N\]\Nwhere \(0<\tau\) is an arbitrary number and \((q_n)\) is a sequence of positive integers with exponential growth speed. Also, a remark on the inhomogeneous case is noted.
