Finite groups can be arbitrarily hamiltonian

From MaRDI portal

The authors construct, for every rational number \(r\in(0,1]\) finite groups \(G\) for which the ratio between the number of conjugacy classes of subgroups and the total number of subgroups of \(G\) is equal to \(r\). Similar results are obtained for three other ``measures of Hamiltonians. At the core of the proofs stays an application of Dirichlet's theorem on the distribution of primes in arithmetic progressions.
