Finite groups with dispersive Sylow normalizers

From MaRDI portal

The paper gives sufficient conditions for a finite group to belong to a subgroup-closed saturated formation \( \mathfrak{F}\) with \(\mathfrak{N}\subseteq \mathfrak{F}\subseteq \mathfrak{D} \), where \(\mathfrak{N}\) is the formation of nilpotent groups and \(\mathfrak{D}\) is the formation of Ore dispersive finite groups. The main result assumes that \(N_G(G_r)\in \mathfrak{F}\) for every prime divisor \(r\) of \(|G|\), where \(G_r\) is a Sylow \(r\)-subgroup of \(G\).\N\NUnder this assumption, the group \(G\) belongs to \(\mathfrak{F}\) if one of the following additional conditions holds: \(G\) is solvable and \(l_p(G)=1\) for every \(p\in\pi(G)\); all Sylow subgroups of \(G\) are abelian; or, for a formation \(\mathfrak{X}\) consisting of nilpotent groups, the \(\mathfrak{X}\)-residual of each Sylow normalizer is subnormal, seminormal, or \(\mathbb{P}\)-subnormal in \(G\).\N\NThe paper also proves that, for a non-empty formation \(\mathfrak{X}\) consisting of finite nilpotent groups, the \(\mathfrak{X}\)-residual of \(G\) is nilpotent if and only if the \(\mathfrak{X}\)-residual of every subgroup is subnormal in \(G\).
