Fundamentals of real analysis

From MaRDI portal

This book contains a complete course of real analysis. It begins with the set-theoretic foundations of modern mathematics and basic facts of general topology. In the next chapters readers can find the Lebesgue's theory of measure and integration including: convergence theorems, the fundamental theorem of calculus, product measures and iterated integrals, Radon-Nikodým theorem and Lebesgue decompositions of measures. Moreover, the author considers some function spaces: \(C(X)\), \(L^1\), \(L^p\) and \(L^{\infty}\). In particular, the Stone-Weierstrass approximation theorem is proved. Some basic theorems on differential equations, Ascoli's theorem, Picard's theorem and Peano's theorem are also included.
