Fuzzy image processing. Introduction to theory and practice

From MaRDI portal

This is a nice and well readable textbook and survey of the main basic facts and theories concerning image processing with fuzzy methods. Its focus is on the notions and the methods, usually proofs are omitted, but examples are given as explanations. Hence, it is a book mainly for engineering people and students. The content is standard. First the explanation of the basic notions for fuzzy sets. Then a large chapter giving the main methodological tools for image processing like fuzzy clustering, fuzzy grammars, fuzzy integrals, neuro-fuzzy approaches. And finally there is a chapter which treats main particular methods for fuzzy image processing.
