Gauss sums and their prime factorization
From MaRDI portal
The author gives a new proof of the prime factorization of Gauss sums associated with the finite field of p elements (p prime). The author's very simple proof derives the prime fatorization as a formal consequence of four basic properties of Gauss sums.
