Gaussian inequality
From MaRDI portal
The authors prove some special cases of Bergeron's inequality involving two Gaussian polynomials \(\binom{b+c}{b}_q\) and \(\binom{a+d}{a}_q\) (or \(q\)-binomials). For example, they prove that the polynomial \(P(q)=\binom{3a+i}{a+i}_q-\binom{3a+2i}{a}_q\) has nonnegative coefficients.
