Generalized first approximation Matsumoto metric
The authors of the paper study the first approximation of the Matsumoto metric in a generalized framework by replacing the Riemannian metric with a Finsler metric. They derive the Cartan tensor along with other fundamental associated geometric properties. Moreover, they characterize the nondegeneracy of the first approximate Matsumoto metric and obtain its geodesic spray, Barthel connection, and Berwald connection. These results are expressed in detail in Proposition 3.5, Propositions 4.1 and 4.2, Theorems 5.4, 5.5, and 5.6, as well as Proposition 5.7.
