Homological aspects of equivariant modules: Matijevic-Roberts and Buchsbaum-Rim
Let \(R\) be a commutative ring and \(G\) an affine \(R\)-group-scheme and \(A\) a noetherian commutative \(G\)-algebra, namely an \(R\)-algebra with a \(G\)-action. \((G,A)\)-modules are called \(G\)-equivariant \(A\)-modules. The author studies homological aspects in the category of equivariant modules and schemes. The basis is the definition of \(G\)-equivariant structures to the Ext- and Tor-functors. As a first application, Matijevic-Roberts type theorems on homological properties are generalized. Applied to commutative ring theory the existence of a \(G\)-equivariant resolution of determinantal ideals leads to a unified treatment of Cohen-Macaulay approximation and Ringel's approximation on reductive groups and quasihereditary algebras.
