Hyperbolic relaxation approximation to nonlinear parabolic problems
From MaRDI portal
The general idea of using local relaxation approximations for the numerical solution of conservation laws is applied to nonlinear parabolic systems. By means of the relaxation idea the second-order nonlinear system is transformed into a system of first-order semilinear equations at the cost of one more rate equation.
