Hypoplasticity: A framework to model granular materials
The authors discuss the hypoplastic constitutive equations as a basis for the modelling of granular materials. First, they introduce a nonlinear rate equation and examine its properties for various types of materials (hypoelastic, elastoplastic, and hypoplastic). The results of testing of rate equations are described in the next section, with emphasis put on such properties as dilatancy, pore pressure, barotropy, pyknotropy, and softening. The paper is concluded with a detailed description of the development of hypoplastic equations in the literature as applied to the title problem. For the entire collection see [Zbl 0896.00015].
