Including iterations for the Lambda-matrix eigenproblem
Real polynomials: location of zeros (26C10) Zeros of polynomials, rational functions, and other analytic functions of one complex variable (e.g., zeros of functions with bounded Dirichlet integral) (30C15) Numerical computation of eigenvalues and eigenvectors of matrices (65F15) Numerical computation of solutions to systems of equations (65H10)
We discuss a general approach to the computation of the zeros of nonlinear polynomial equations with particular emphasis on the lambda matrix eigenproblem. The approach is based on the explicit representation of the (non-unique) slope operator. This operator is then used to generate including iterations for the zeros. The underlying idea is that of the splitting of a multivariate polynomial.
