Infinite chains of tangent circles
From MaRDI portal
The author extends some results of Pappus of Alexandria concerning several cases of infinite chains of tangent circles in a shape named ``arbelos. The locus of the centers of these circles is found to be a conic section. Formulae for the radius and the center's coordinates for a generic circle in the chain are given.
