Integer-valued polynomials in several variables
In an earlier paper the author [\textit{S. B. Mulay} in: Zero-dimensional Commutative Rings, Proc. 1994 John Barrett Memorial Lect. and Conf. Commutative Ring Theory, Lect. Notes Pure Appl. Math. 171, 331-345 (1995; Zbl 0885.13013)] studied the ring \(\text{Int} (S, k) = \{f(x) \in K[x]|f(S) \subseteq k\}\) where \(k\) is an integral domain, \(K\) its field of fractions and \(S \subseteq k\). He gave there sufficient conditions on \(S\) and \(k\) which insure that \(\text{Int} (S, k)\) is contained in a finite \(k[x]\)-module. The present paper is devoted to generalize these results to polynomials in several variables and also to characterize triples \(S, T, k\) for which \(\text{Int} (S, k) = \text{Int} (T, k)\) in the multivariable case.
