Integral classification of endomorphisms of an arbitrary algebra with finitary operations

From MaRDI portal

This paper studies \(n\)-groupoids (algebraic structures $(G, f)$ where $G$ is a non-empty set and $f$ is an $n$-ary operation, $n>1$) and their endomorphisms (structure-preserving maps). Building on prior work that classified endomorphisms of \(2\)-groupoids (see Theorem 1 [\textit{A. V. Litavrin}, Proc. Steklov Inst. Math. 321, S170--S185 (2023; Zbl 1535.20299); translation from Tr. Inst. Mat. Mekh. (Ekaterinburg) 29, No. 1, 143--159 (2023)]) the paper generalizes this classification to arbitrary $n$-groupoids (Theorem 8). These classifications help analyze the structure of endomorphisms in complex algebraic systems. The main contribution is Theorem 18, which introduces an integral classification of endomorphisms for any algebra with operations of finite arity. This comprehensive classification synthesizes information from all the left bipolar classifications across the $n$-groupoids induced by the algebra's operations. The resulting integral classification provides a holistic view of the endomorphism structure, effectively unifying various classification schemes into a single, cohesive framework, hence the term ``integral.
