Integrated semigroups and vibrating string problem

From MaRDI portal

Consider the abstract Cauchy problems \[ u'(t)= A(\varepsilon) u(t)quad\text{for } t\geq 0, \quad u(0)= u_0, \tag{1} \] where \(A(\varepsilon)\) is a closed and non-densely defined operator on a Banach space \(X\), and \(\varepsilon\) is a multiparameter. Continuity with respect to parameter of the integrated semigroup is a property that arises naturally when considering solutions of the abstract Cauchy problem (1). Theorems are developed in order to determine continuity with respect to the parameter \(\varepsilon\) of the integrated semigroups which is generated by the operator \(A(\varepsilon)\). These theorems are applied to a vibrating string problem, and the results on existence of a unique classical solution or integral solution of this equation and continuity w.r.t. the parameter \(\varepsilon\) of such a solution are obtained.
