Isonoetherian chained rings
All rings considered in this paper are commutative with identity. Let \(R\) be a ring and \(M\) an \(R\)-module. Recall that \(M\) is said to be isonoetherian if, for every ascending chain \(M_{1}\subset M_{2}\subset \dots\) of submodules of \(M,\) there exists an index \(n\) such that \(M_{n}\) is isomorphic to \(M_{i}\) for every \(i\geq n.\) The ring \(R\) is said to be isonoetherian if the \(R\)-module \(R\) is isonoetherian. In this paper under review, the author investigates isonoetherian chained rings. More precisely, he proves that if \( R\) is a chained ring with nilradical \(N,\) then \(R\) is isonoetherian if and only if \(R\) satisfies the descending chain condidtion on annihilators and the ascending chain condition on infinitely generated ideals, which is also equivalent to the following conditions:\N\N\begin{itemize}\N\item[1.] each zero-divisor of \(R\) is nilpotent,\N\item[2.] the \(R\)-module \(N\) satisfies the descending chain condition on annihilators and the ascending chain condition on infinitely generated submodules, and\N\item[3.] \(R/N\) is a discrete valuation domain with Krull dimension less or equal to \(2.\)\N\end{itemize}\N\NOn the other hand, a ring \(R\) (not necessarily commutative) satisfies divisibility on ascending chain of right ideals (ACC\(_{d}\) on right ideals) if, for every ascending chain \(I_{1}\subset I_{2}\subset\dots\) of right ideals of \(R,\) there exists a positive integer \(k\) such that for each \(i\geq k,\) \(I_{i}=r_{i}I_{i+1}\) for some \(r_{i}\in R.\) An \(R\)-module \(M\) satisfies strongly ACC\(_{d}\) on submodules if for every ascending chain \(M_{1}\subset M_{2}\subset \dots\) of submodules of \(M\) there exists an index \(n\) such that \( M_{i}=r_{i}M_{i+1}\) for all \(i\geq n\) and for some \(r_{i}\in R.\) In addition, an \(R\)-module \(M\) satisfies epi-ACC on submodules if for every ascending chain \(M_{1}\subset M_{2}\subset \dots\) of submodules of \(M,\) there exists a positive integer \(k\) such that for each integer \(i\geq k,\) there exists an epimorphism \(\varphi _{i}:M_{i+1}\rightarrow M_{i}.\) A ring \(R\) satisfies right epi-ACC if the \(R\)-module \(R\) satisfies epi-ACC on submodules. The author proves that a chained ring \(R\) satisfies ACC\(_{d}\) on ideals if and only if \(R\) satisfies the ascending chain condition on infinitely generated ideals if and only if \(R\) satisfies epi-ACC on ideals. Finally, a particular attention is paid to pseudo-valuation rings satisfying the isonoetherian property or the ACC\(_{d}\) on ideals. More specifically, the author shows that a pseudo-valuation ring \(R\) with nilradical \(N\) is isonoetherian (respectively, satisfies ACC\(_{d}\) on ideals) if and only if each zero divisor of \(R\) is nilpotent, the \(R\)-module \(N\) is isonoetherian and the ring \(R/N\) is isonoetherian (respectively, the \(R\)-module \(N\) satisfies strongly ACC\(_{d}\) on submodules and the ring \(R/N\) satisfies ACC\( _{d}\) on ideals).
