The authors of this nice paper study different kinds of boundedness in topological groups: Menger-bounded (introduced independently by Okunev and the reviewer), Hurewicz-bounded, Scheepers-bounded and Rothberger-bounded groups (introduced by the reviewer). Combinatorial characterizations of these groups (which are subgroups of the Baer-Specker group \(\mathbb Z^{\mathbb N}\)) are given, as well as characterizations in terms of uniformly continuous images into the space \(\mathbb Z^{\mathbb N}\). Combining some results of this paper with a result by \textit{L. Babinkostova} [Mat. Vesn. 58, No.~3--4, 131--138 (2006; Zbl 1140.54016)] it is shown that the Hurewicz conjecture for groups (any metrizable Hurewicz-bounded group is a subgroup of a \(\sigma\)-compact group) is true. Several questions about relations between considered group theoretic properties and their general topological counterparts posed by \textit{L. D. R. Kočinac} [Note Mat. 22, 127--139 (2003; Zbl 1098.54021)] and \textit{L. Babinkostova, L. D. R. Kočinac} and \textit{M. Scheepers} [Topology Appl. 154, 1269--1280 (2007; Zbl 1114.54023)] are answered.
